My first Lemongrass Spa party experience was…

This past weekend I got the chance to shadow my Lemongrass Spa director, Jenn, at her home while she held a Lemongrass Spa facial party! It was awesome.

I did the whole “become a consultant” thing a little backwards. I had only heard of the company, never tried the products or attended a party when I made the decision to start selling. The reviews alone and the all-natural ingredients was enough to get me to become a consultant. I did a lot of research on the brand and then even more research on all of the harmful chemicals that are in today’s products and decided right then to start making some healthier lifestyle changes. I was so excited upon signing up because I couldn’t wait to share these amazing products with everyone!

I lost that motivation when I realized I was in over my head with my workload and graduate classes. I had rescheduled several times to meet with Jenn because my schedule was just so busy. I finally made time on Sunday morning to listen in on one of her in-home spa parties and I am SO glad that I did!!

It was so motivating and uplifting to see someone have so much success through a direct selling company and not to mention, a company she is truly passionate about! Her daughter has had severe allergic reactions to store bought products, even the most common on the market like Johnson & Johnson. She began to realize that the chemicals in these products were causing these health concerns. Since switching to Lemongrass Spa’s all-natural products her daughters skin and overall health has improved tremendously! It was so great to hear a personal story on how Lemongrass products have contributed to a much healthier lifestyle!

She went over all of the products with me one by one and I got to see many products, including the sheer minerals makeup, that did not come in my start-up kit. The skincare product junkie in me was in heaven!

After reviewing the products and talking about the company, I sat through a facial spa party one of her friends was hosting. The ladies got to do a hand soak and then got a facial treatment with our awesome skincare cleanser, polish and moisturizer. They even got to apply the all-natural mineral makeup! It was such a fun and very relaxing at-home party (unlike the many I’ve been to). There was a diffuser steaming with one of our essential oils which made the room smell and feel like we were at a spa!

I learned so much about Lemongrass Spa products and now I am even more thrilled to share these wonderful all-natural products with you and your friends and family! Please contact me today to book an at-home spa party or shop the products on my Lemongrass website linked below! Make the switch and ditch the chemicals!

Why you need essential oils in your home

Y’all… who would have thought that so many wonderful things can come from a tiny little bottle of essential oil?!? I’m astounded by all of the ways essential oils can be used on a daily basis!

Before becoming an independent consultant for Lemongrass Spa I had only heard about essentials oils but never took the time to understand all of the wonderful benefits and uses for them. Known to work wonders, essential oils contain the true essence of the plant from which they were derived. Contrary to what you’d think, they are not oily to touch, but rather a pure liquid extracted from the plant. The oils are distilled by using either water or steam and are highly concentrated. Because of this, essential oils are packaged in small bottles as only a few drops are needed at a time.

The uses vary from aromatherapy to non-toxic household cleaning to insect repellent to natural remedies for physical discomfort and well being. Essential oils are often used by diluting them with a carrier oil (sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, grapeseed oil) and then applying this blend to the skin for absorption.

All of Lemongrass Spa essential oils are are either USDA Certified Organic or Wildcrafted and 3rd party tested to ensure therapeutic grade quality. None of the oils have been diluted or synthetically altered.

We do not recommend using an essential oil without diluting it. To dilute your essential oil, use our Pure Fractionated Coconut Oil to create your own skin application.

Why are Lemongrass Spa essential oils superior to the rest?

The Five Qualities of Lemongrass Spa’s Essential Oil Collection

  1. 100% pure, therapeutic grade essential oils
    1. Oils are tested with a Gas Chromatographic Spectrometer which maps the individual constitutes of the essential oil to ensure the oils contain the correct balance that qualify the oil as pure and unadulterated. Click here to read more about GC testing.
  2. USDA Certified Organic or Wildcrafted crops
    1. Wildcrafted plants are not farmed but ethically and sustainably cultivated from their natural growth areas.
    2. Click here for USDA certification standards.
  3. Crops are harvested and distilled by artisans (essential oil “artists”) who ensure the plants are harvested and distilled at the right time to guarantee the resulting oil is of the highest quality for therapeutic benefits.
    1. An example of why harvesting and distilling times are important: A certified organic rosemary essential where the plant was picked at the end of the season would be high in camphor, making it a low grade essential oil.
  4. Ecological and sustainable business practices from farms and distilleries, meaning no damage to the earth or surrounding community is done during the farming or distilling process
  5. As with all of Lemongrass Spa’s raw ingredients and finished products, essential oils are never tested on animals.

We encourage our customers to consider the importance of the USDA Certified Organic or Wildcrafted Essential Oils versus using those that may be diluted or grown in areas with a high prevalence of pesticide use. There is such a wide array of quality of essential oils – from very high quality to very poor quality – available in the marketplace. It’simportant you know what you are diffusing, putting on your skin or inhaling.

Transitioning to a New Skin Care Regimen

Most people are hesitant when changing their skincare routine. Whether their current one is working or not, they fear that changing their products will have a negative impact on their skin. The truth is implementing different skincare products and ingredients into your routine are beneficial. Just like a personal trainer advises their clients to rotate their workouts so your muscles don’t become complacent, estheticians advise their clients to change their skincare routine. This allows the skin to receive different benefits from new products. Your skin is consistently changing and your skincare should be adjusting to reflect your skins current needs.

If you are making the decision to try natural products for the first time, or you are switching over your skincare products from summer to autumn, you might experience a transition phase known as skin detoxing. Detoxing can have some not so pleasant side effects and appear in several different ways depending on your skin type. The most common symptoms of skin detoxing are acne, redness, skin sensitivity, excessive oil production, or lack of oil production. This period could last from a couple of days to a couple of weeks depending on the type of change you are making. Keep in mind if you are changing over to natural products for the first time this period may last a little longer.

Below are Lemongrass Products that can help each detox symptom your skin may experience. They may not cure them 100%; however they will act as an aid until your skin adjusts.

Tea Tree Face Soap will draw skin impurities out from your pores. This will help skin blemishes heal faster.

Clarifying Facial Mist Spray this mist on your skin throughout the detoxing process to help treat blemishes before they surface.

Prebiotic Facial Wash and Mist This pair helps reduce redness and inflammation by providing the skin with healthy bacteria. The healthy bacteria will help balance the skin and fight irritations.

Green Corrector Concealing Stick Use the concealing stick under any Sheer Minerals concealer to neutralize redness on the skin.

Skin Sensitivity

Gentle Face Crème This moisturizer is unscented and nut-oil free which is perfect for sensitive skin.

Healing Elements The zinc in Healing Elements will help sooth itching sensitive skin.

Excessive oil production

Mineral Make up Primer Absorbs excessive oil under your make up.

Green Tea Antioxidant Serum This is a lightweight serum for oily skin.

Lack of oil production

Cleansing Gel for Normal to Dry Skin SLS free and great for not stripping the skin during cleansing.

Lastly, I suggest drinking plenty of water, to help detox from the inside out. Once you have fully transitioned to using natural skin care you might only have a few, if any, detox symptoms when transitioning between different natural skincare products during each season. Hang in there, once the detox phase is over you will be relieved to see the many benefits your skin has received.

Introducing New Independent Consultant for Lemongrass Spa

Hey y’all! I have some super exciting news to share – I have started yet another entrepreneurial adventure with Lemongrass Spa as an Independent Consultant!

A true passion of mine lies in the beauty and skincare industry. I love to pamper my skin in the best ways possible and am constantly trying new ways to enhance the natural beauty of my skin. Some of you may know that I am a product junkie. I love products and spend way too much money on them, especially skincare products. New flashy labels and compelling marketing incentives get me every time.

Recently, I’ve been reading labels more and more and realized that most products I use are jam-packed with harmful ingredients. For example, did you know that most deodorants contain FIVE toxic ingredients? Aluminum (linked to breast cancer), parabens (hormonal disruptor), propylene glycol (can cause damage to central nervous system, live and heart), phthalates (linked to birth defects), and triclosan (classified as a pesticide by the FDA). WOW. After becoming more aware of the chemicals in many everyday products, I began to do some research to find natural skincare lines and that’s when I stumbled across Lemongrass Spa.

Lemongrass Spa offers 97-100% natural and organic skincare, mineral makeup and baby care products by way of direct selling from independent consultants. All products are handmade in the USA and cruelty free (testing done on humans, never on animals).

Science and technology have started linking health concerns to harmful chemicals found in many products on the market. In an effort to move away from these chemicals, living a healthy lifestyle and choosing to buy natural and organic products is a making a huge movement in today’s society. So much so that big-name companies like Johnson & Johnson have started mocking organic skincare lines by pushing marketing campaigns for their new “natural” product lines. Take a look at the picture below:

It is clear to see that Johnson & Johnson is trying to make way in the natural skincare industry by simply altering a few ingredients and adding the word “natural” to the bottle. Without looking at the ingredients, a consumer would be tricked into buying a product that is actually full of non-natural ingredients. Very deceiving. You can see on the right that Lemongrass Spa offers an all natural version that is safe to use on your baby.

I am really excited to bring Lemongrass Spa products to my community, friends and family as I am a huge advocate for their products and believe that they can enhance your natural skin in the most beneficial way possible.

As most of you know, I have gone the independent merchandiser route before, hence my brief experience with Chloe + Isabel. While I am still considered an Independent Merchandiser for C + I, I have never been super motivated to sell their jewelry. Not that I don’t 100% back their brand and products (I have and will always love the company!), but I am not a person to shove products down someone’s throat when it comes to buying less necessary items like jewelry.

Having said that, I’m not interested in making money as an independent consultant by way of direct selling. Making money and commissions is my least concern. I worked at Nordstrom where I solely relied on commission and ended up quitting because quite frankly, I’m just not good at selling. I am not a born salesperson and it is not in my nature to be a pushy rep for a company.

Nevertheless, I am very excited about embarking on this new journey because I am truly a supporter of Lemongrass Spa and want everyone to embrace and benefit from all of the wonderful and very affordable products.
